Student Government is a course that focuses on student professional development, the acquisition of career gauged leadership skills, and community building efforts inspired by student organized events. Student Government also called Student Council (STUCO) follows NMASC and NMAA guidelines for member and participation eligibility. As a Student Government that participates in NMASC we are able to expose our students to leadership training, service opportunities, civic engagement, networking, awards and competitions, and personal growth prospects. Students have opportunities to work closely at solving real school and community problems with community affiliates. Individuals have the space to represent students by grade or by committee in order to speak for a group. Moreover, they will gain collaborative, interpersonal, and teamwork skills highlighted by effective communication.
